Gretsch George Harrison Signature Duo Jet Guitar

Geprge Harrison Signature Duo Jet Guitar
The Differences In The Stock Duo Jet & The Harrison Are Structural & Cosmetic.

1,  The body is 2 inches deep the standard has been 1 ¾ for a very long time.

2.  The chambering of the body is different, it has more area removed so even though it’s slightly deeper body the weight is the same or less than the standard.

3 The guitar is all black. George had a repaint done in 1963 the Beatle Gear book by Andy Babiuk details the time when the band finally got a vacation. John & George both had their guitars painted.

4 The bridge is a rocking bar on the signature model and the standard has a later model bridge.

5 The case is a premium tweed case that is not available on the standard.

Gretsch celebrates the legacy of George Harrison with the G6128T-GH George Harrison SIGNATURE Duo Jet® guitar, modeled on the instrument that the legendary guitarist often referred to as his "first real decent guitar."

Features include distinctive appointments and modifications found on Harrison’s original 1957 Gretsch Duo Jet, which he purchased secondhand in the very early 1960s. These include a lightweight mid-’50s-style chambered body, all-BLACK color scheme (arched maple top, mahogany back and sides, and back of the one-piece mahogany neck), Bigsby® B3C tailpiece with a black Phillips head tremolo arm pivot bolt, and an offset strap button on lower bout. Other features include three-ply body binding (white-black-white), single-ply white neck and headstock binding, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and hump-block pearloid inlays, two single-coil DynaSonic™ pickups, vintage-style "rocking bar" bridge with rosewood base, silver plexi pickguard, chrome-plated Grover® V98CM Sta-Tite™ tuners, Gretsch "G" arrow control knobs, chrome-plated hardware, Harrison’s signature on the truss rod cover and a premium tweed case.         Buzz Feiten Tuning System

That Great Gretsch Sound

The quality of the new Gretsch guitars are excellent. In fact I am impressed with the workmanship and finishes. The playability exceeds many of the old originals and the tone is unmistakably Gretsch.  This English Gentleman you see George holding is now available from Ed Roman by exclusive agreement from Gretsch.

The normal one that is available everywhere else is Brown. It doesn't look as nice as this one in Jet Black

This guitar was originally issued in 2004, There were only 20 made and they did not have the mutes. The new  model does have the mutes.
